Hello, I have Office 2016 on my PC, but this version lacks Access so I bought it separately. After installing Access an error occurred, Excel is not recognizing fies associated with this program but only those saved in excel 1997-2003. Icons have changed colours too and I cant open them in any way.
The one responsible may be Access itself, it might've deleted the entrys concerning app extensions. I'd recommend checking in the control panel the "Default apps" settings to see if everytking is ok and, if not, then you might have to do that manually and assign the extensions properly

It didn't work at all, nothing is properly assignedd so I still dont know what the problem is, only those file formats are not recognized as they should and I found out that the same happens with Word files.
Maybe try removing them from the list and then pin them again and run the file, now the system should ask how you want to open them.

The problem is that now I cant remove the extensions. And when I try to open them, the system asks what program I wanna use and I don't have Excel.
If you dont have Excel on the list, you can always select and add it manually.
How am I expecte the app since it is not on the list ?
You simply need to select the program icon in the location where you've installed it.
